Consistent, brutal tone anywhere — plug, play, destroy
John Venieris 13.06.2025
The Boss ML-2 is a beast. With zero effort, I get the same crushing tone no matter what amp I plug into — and that’s a massive win for rehearsals, live shows, or even last-minute gear situations.

It’s tight, aggressive, and focused, perfect for modern metal and hardcore. It cuts through the mix, handles drop tunings with ease, and just delivers that heavy, chug-ready sound every time. No tweaking for 20 minutes — just plug it in and go.

What really makes it shine is its consistency. Whether I'm using a clean solid-state amp at rehearsal or a random backline at a venue, I can rely on this pedal to give me my tone. That kind of reliability is gold.

For the price, it's a must-have tool for metal players who want simplicity, power, and no surprises. Set it and forget it — and get back to playing hard.

JC
The best distortion pedal ever.
Jorge Casado 10.09.2021
Simple to use and well built, this distortion pedal produces the most satisfying sound you could possibly want. If you are looking to get a great metal tone, this is it.
Flexible and powerful, it will allow you to get heavy metal, Djent, power metal and prog/metal tones easy.
It’s stylish and strongly made, just great to the feel.
Don’t be deceived by the name of it, this is the best metal distortion out there.
I use this on a Marshall clean channel, and guitars fitted with SD Dimebucker, invader and Alpha&Omega pickups.

I’m super happy with this purchase.

I'm not sure how to describe this
Medvedotron 13.02.2019
I wanted to have this classic metal masterpiece for fun and I'm kind of disappointed. It's objectively good, it does what it should, it has enough knobs to let you play with it instead of guitar for hours. Where's the problem? It's fizzy, the proper tone can't be set easily (you have very short span of cool sound before the fizz appears while turning the knobs) and it's definitely not a pedal for all amps. So unless you have many of them you might be unlucky and it's not going to work with your setup. Definitely try it with your amp before you buy or at least don't use it as your first and only pedal.
